Agron Sadiku, of Woodbury in Litchfield County, was arrested and charged with reckless endangerment in the second degree and reckless driving in Southington, Connecticut State Police said.
A trooper pulled over Sadiku in a BMW around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 6, after clocking him driving 126 mph near Exit 32 of I-84, a 65-mph zone, authorities said. It's the same place an allegedly intoxicated teenager was caught driving 113 mph on Thursday, Oct. 3.
That news of his speed must have shocked Sadiku, who told the officer he was only driving 80 mph. He explained that he'd just rented the BMW in East Hartford and was driving it home when the officer pulled him over, authorities said.
Police arrested Sadiku, and he was released after posting a $2,500 bond, officials said.
